Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Coral Amber
I wasn't sure if I'd posted this polish before, but either way, it deserves attention. Coral Amber is a beautiful duochrome holographic polish. The base is a pearly pink to coral orange subtle duochrome with a pink flash, highlighted with a weak linear holographic sparkle. Very girly and pretty. Most of the time this polish looked pink to me, but in the sun, I loved the orange-y coral that came out.
Easy peasy formula. Did two coats with one coat of Seche Vite. Unfortunately Sally Hansen discontinued the Prisms years ago. However, they popped up in Ross last year and sometimes show up in Dollar stores to keep your eyes peeled for this beauties!

Floral Nail Art
Just a quick post today, my friends! Pure Ice Heartbreaker over Fingerpaints Black Expressionism, one coat of each with Seche Vite. I used acrylic paints and a little brush to paint the flowers. They were supposed to be based on Austin Scarlett's Project Runway All Stars finale wedding dress but it didn't come out right. Anyways, here you go!
And the rarely seen right hand! *gasp*

L'oreal "Check Me Out!" + "Silver Sparkle"!
This polish is all kinds of sexy. L'oreal Check Me Out! is part of L'oreal's new extended line of nail polishes. They come in a cute little rectangular bottle, only .39 oz for 4.99 at Walmart, but the range of colors makes it totally worth it! Unfortunately the formula on this polish wasn't my favorite. It seemed to be pretty well pigmented, but kept getting bald spots on the second coat. I ended up having to do FOUR coats to get this sucker even. But check out the gorgeous blue hidden shimmer! That makes up for the formula issues.
But of course, you know me, I had to spice it up! I found this gorgeous new collection by LA Girl called "Fruity" at Rite Aid, it was full of beauteous glass-flecked awesomeness in a range of different scents. To layer over Check Me Out! I used Fruity - Strawberry Delight: a sheer pinky coral jelly base with pink, orange, magenta and yellow glassflecks. Some of the flecks are almost big enough to be considered flakes. And the scent is nice and light and not too overpowering. These are $2.99 at Rite Aid.
And here's a bonus, L'oreal Silver Sparkle. I really wanted to love this, I really dead. It's awesome in theory: sheer silver shimmer base with iridescent glitter with a hint of gold. Unfortunately it was so damned sheer that after two coats I had to scrap it on its own and layer it. But here is a pic of the two coats over two coats of OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam!:
And look at this craptastic brush! I had to trim it to make it less like an oar. Poop! Luckily CVS had a $2.00 coupon sitting right by the display... meh!
And if you made it this far... here's the picture of the two coats alone with my stained nails, AHHH!

China Glaze Custom Kicks
I could not capture the gorgeousness that is this polish! Custom Kicks is originally from China Glaze's Kicks collection in 2009. I love everything about this color. Usually I hate anything that looks green on me, but this color is like a green leaning turquoise with super fine hidden gold shimmer (but not tooo hidden!). The shimmer totally makes this polish unique. I kept looking at my hands and wondering if I had any dupes in my collection (I probably have at least 50 blue/green polishes), but I couldn't find anything close to it.
I know this swatch isn't the most exciting post ever, but this one of my favorite manis I've worn in awhile, just gorgeous simplicity. The polish had an AWESOME formula, two super easy coats, no bubbling, just love in a bottle!

Lynnderella Bibbity Bobbity Boo Blue Layering Extravaganza!
This all began as an effort to do a basic blue on blue layering. I tried a bunch of combinations and none of them came out quite right. But here's a rundown of the polishes I ended up using: Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire, then Wet n Wild Believe Me It's Real, then Love & Beauty Blue (dupe for LA Girl blue glitter polish, then Lynnderella Bibbity Bobbity Boo Blue. Please excuse the cotton fuzz! I had some issues with this mani: pain to clean up, fuzzy mess, not enough contrast.
Then I matteified it for funsies! I used the Warpaint Beauty matte topcoat from Hot Topic.

Nails Inc Franklin's Row
Isn't she a beaut? This is my first Nails Inc polish, and I was pretty happy with it. I was super excited to find a new Sephora in my hometown, and I had to investigate. They had the new nail bar with all the different brands of polishes arranged in a rainbow of happiness. It was like polish heaven! I'd never seen Nails Inc in person and it was a physical thing to try to keep myself from grabbing and walking out with everything! I controlled myself and this was the only thing I picked up, but let me tell you about it!
Franklin's Row is a duochromatic polish... full of mysteryyyy. The base was an almost pearly greyed out dark blue with purplish duochrome. But theeen there are the foily flecks that shift from pretty reddish pink to purple to blue! There seem to be two different colors of flecks that allow at least two colors to flash at one time. Awesooome. The formula was nice and easy to work with, I used three coats but I only really needed two.
Love it!
