Mmmm... Halloween GLITTERS!

So I went a little mad with my Halloween glitters. This is what I have on today: American Apparel Hassid, one coat, one coat Lynnderella Love Potion No. 99, one coat orange glitter pumpkin polish, two coats Kleancolor Starry Purple, and a thousand coats of Seche Vite. Plus little bone guys and ghosties (stickers)! Click to enlarge!

This was how this mani started:

Ahhh! I love Halloween! I bought super sweet fangs for my vampire costume. And I love that Macy's is doing Halloween dress up on Saturday, so I get TWO Halloweens. Although, as you know, everyday with Tara is Halloween!

Halloween is coming!

Halloween is my favorite time of year! Been doing different Halloween-ish manis all month, but here is a super glitter-y super-fun glitter mani. I used one coat American Apparel Hassid, one coat of Lynnderella Love Potion no 99, with an accent nail of orange pumpkin polish glitter and Kleancolor Starry Purple. And then loooots of Seche Vite.

And here's a bonus mani I did in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness (and my momma's birthday). This is two coats OPI My Address is Hollywood with two coats of Barielle Buddhaful, accent nail is two coats of Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air over Absolute Light Blue.

Another franken and layering fun!

I had this vision of doing a fall mani but without using reds or oranges or burgundies, so I went with Lancome Indigo Paris with a gradient of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and  one of the Maybelline Coloroma flakies. I love Indigo Paris, it's such a pretty blue! I had three people grab my hands at work today, and I'm glad I had a Lancome polish on for once so I didn't have that awkward pause while I try to think of a polish to pretend it is (since we're supposed to wear only our counter's colors).

Spectraflair franken... a black holo! I dub thee - Rainbow Road.

Mmmmm.... double rainbow. This franken is comprised of the dregs of a bottle of OPI DS Original. Maybe an 1/8 of a bottle. The rest is Wet n Wild black creme,TKB Glamour base, and about 2 straw-spoonfuls of Spectraflair. I love it! You really get the full rainbow effect with the black background. These swatches are two coats of Rainbow Road over one coat WnW black creme.

Chanel Holiday 2011 - Rouge Carat

I present to you from the Chanel Les Scintillances Holiday 2011 collection, Rouge Carat. It's a pretty cool toned red with a pinkish shimmer. It caught my eye as I was walking through our cosmetics department and I had to grab it and admire it in the light. Of course I snatched it and took it to my counter and did a quick at-work-mani. The nice thing about the formula is that it's pretty opaque, I probably could have gotten away with one coat, but of course I did two. The bad thing about the formula, it kept bubbling! This has happened with all of the Chanels I've tried so far. Another nice thing about this collection is that they had a matching lipgloss to match Rouge Carat, and I'm always entertained by matchy matchy things. So here's the pics:

And a bonus shot of Barielle Gelt Me to the Party. I LOVE this color. Perfect for fall.

I'm On the Prowl... with Cougar Attack!

This makes me so happy! I had been lusting after Deborah Lippmann Superstar for forever, but didn't want to drop the huge lump of cash to buy it. When I saw that the Wet n Wild On the Prowl collection had a dupe, I immediately set out on a quest to find this polish. Funny enough, I found it in my second CVS. Grabbed Cougar Attack, Tangled in My Web and Behind Closed Doors. Two Lippmann dupes in one collection! Behind Closed Doors is dupey to DL's Ruby Red Slippers. Except I HATED the formula on the WnW. Thin and yucky and the glitter looked cheap and melty. But Cougar Attack had good coverage, and for a glitter, the formula wasn't bad.
I'm wearing three coats of Cougar Attack with 1 coat of Barielle Manicure Extender and 1 coat of Seche Vite in the first photos:

New Lancome Golden Hat Foundation polish...

We just got in the new Golden Hat Foundation collection at Macy's. It mostly consists of pink and reds, but the standout polish to me was the glitter polish, 003. This polish isn't just a silver glitter in a clear base, it has some cool gold glitter in there as well. Although to me it looks kind of plain, it is definitely bling-y. And it makes since that it's part of the Lancome Holiday collection, I could totally see this as a New Year's Eve mani. I just did a quick mani at work during some slow time, so this is two coats of 003 over Lancome Noir 29 from the earlier Lancome fall collection.

Absolutely Autumnal, my new Barielles!

Like a lot of people on Makeup Alley and The Other nailboard, I took advantage of the SWEET sale that Barielle had. 30% on top of buy one get one 50%  off plus another big discount. Couldn't resist. So here are the first two I tried Cashmere or Lose Me, and Make it a Latte. Both had great formulas, two coats. The shimmer was a little bit more subtle than I would have liked. But I loooove the warmth of Cashmere or Lose Me, it feels warm and cozy to me. Here's my little alternating mani with them:

and of course, here's a little pumpkin sticker, BECAUSE I AM READY FOR HALLOWEEN NOW:

Chanel Graphite... made ... better?

So, I never had much interest in Chanel Graphite. Grays don't seem to do well on me, they give me lobster hands. But it was reeeally slow at work tonight, and my franken from earlier today had chipped (daggone peelies). So I grabbed the Graphite tester and did a quick at-work mani. Got home, cleaned it up. Still not excited about it.
Here's a pic:

Meh, meh. So I added some Crushed Candy China Glaze crackle. Better. But still not enough. So I added some bling with Kleancolor Aurora. STILL not enough. So I remembered my promise to myself, which was to make the most of these hundreds of Halloween nail stickers, so then I added a little Halloween accent nail.
Pics:

Kinda disjointed since the colors are all light and happy and then I have a little ghosty... but I like it!

Franken fun!

Ahhhh! I love Spectraflair! It makes everything better. Okay. Now that that's out, I would just like to say that I'm very inspired by Dr. Frankenpolish. I wish she still posted! She always showed all these different pigments she bought and how they mixed with polish. One in particular that I fell in love with was TKB's Travel to Mars pigment, it looked so neat in her post here at her site. She mixed it with black. I decided to do more of a topcoat with it. The end result reminds me kind of Essie Kisses and Bisses, at least in the bottle. However, then I threw in some Spectraflair (because I can), and made it holo goodness. Here's some pics!

This franken is part TKB Glamour Base, part Wet n Wild Fastdry clear (regret this, bad brush!), part Travel to Mars pigment from TKB, and part Spectraflair. This is 3 coats over black.
