In honor of Lancome's new fragrance "La vie est belle," I made a franken inspired by the perfume's box. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good picture, but the box is white with a layer of red iridescent and yellow and green iridescent glitters, and then the edges of the box are a holographic copper. Awesome! The fragrance itself is a little heavy for me, but I hope it does well (so people will buy it at my counter, lol.)
The franken I made is just a white jelly base with red to green color shifting glitter and mini iridescent yellow/green glitter with a dash of spectra flair. Most of that wouldn't translate to pictures, but here you go! I did two coats of my franken over three coats of a creme jelly, then I added a funky french with OPI DS Vintage, to represent the coppery holo edges on the perfume box.
Please ignore the bubbles, me and white polishes don't get along.
And theeeen, because you know I can't leave anything alone, I added a fauxnad stamp using Sally Hansen Magical Nail Makeup in Mystical Mandarin and stamp number m20 from the Mash set.

Rainbow Honey - The Worst Possible Thing
Here's my last Rainbow Honey polish to show you: The Worst Possible Thing! The name to me is pretty funny, because of all the Rainbow Honeys I got, this has the best formula. Whereas the other three had thick, gooey, unspreadable formulas, this one, while thick, spread nice and even. The only time it got difficult was when a couple flakes would snag on eachother. Because guess what folks, this polish not only has iridescent and holo glitter, it also has iridescent flakie bits in it! I layered two coats of TWPT over two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Grea Area.
I love that this polish has iridescent purple and blue glitters in it, those types are my faaaavorite. I could have done without the holo bits but it does give the polish a very fun feel. And the fact that these are named after My Little Pony Friendship is Magic just makes my day.
In this last picture you can see how the flakkie bits overlap and cloud the base polish a bit. Still pretty though! Next time I'm gonna try it over a pastel or a dark blue.
You can by Rainbow Honey at RainbowHoney.com, $10 for 15ml or $5 for 7ml minis.

Lynnderella Bibbitty Bobbitty Boo Blue + OPI DS Temptation + SPAM
Okay, so...yeah. There's been a lot of craziness surrounding Lynnderella's polishes. I'm not going to get into it. What I will tell you is that the ones I have, I love. I enjoy the crap out of glitter crazy mess polishes, and BBBB is no exception. For this mani I did 2 coats of NYS Hot Purple jelly, then 2 coats of OPI DS Temptation (a very non holo DS), then 1 coat of Gelous, 1 coast of Seche Vite, and then 2 coats of Lynnderella Bibbitty Bobbitty Boo Blue, and then a coat of NYC Grand Central Station topcoat. WHOO! That's a lot of coats, now onto the sparkles!
I just love all the different colors of blue and purple and green! I just wish there were more different shapes/sizes. Good luck getting your hands on this polish, not only is it discontinued, but now the only way you can get your hands on Lynn's polish is ebay :(.
Now onto some spam!
Model's Own - Purple Blue
Catherine Arley 600, juicy red scattered holo.
OPI DS Signature with SH XW Strobelight glitter tip gradient.
OPI Bling Dynasty with Essie As Gold As It Gets

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Coral Amber
I wasn't sure if I'd posted this polish before, but either way, it deserves attention. Coral Amber is a beautiful duochrome holographic polish. The base is a pearly pink to coral orange subtle duochrome with a pink flash, highlighted with a weak linear holographic sparkle. Very girly and pretty. Most of the time this polish looked pink to me, but in the sun, I loved the orange-y coral that came out.
Easy peasy formula. Did two coats with one coat of Seche Vite. Unfortunately Sally Hansen discontinued the Prisms years ago. However, they popped up in Ross last year and sometimes show up in Dollar stores to keep your eyes peeled for this beauties!

Turquoise Opal and my new shiny pretty :)
Working yesterday, I saw the most super shiniest prettiest shiny thing, and decided I MUST POSSESS IT. But after acquiring it, I was challenged to come up with a manicure to try to dupe the gorgeousness. So I present to you 2 coats of Sally Hansen Nail Prism Turquoise Opal over American Apparel Hassid with a coat of Funky Fingers Bella's Boy and one coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Bluebell. For some reason my camera cannot capture all the color shifting goodness. And because I had topcoated the TO before I added the glitter, my final layer of Seche Vite crinkled the bottom layer of TO. Meh, oh well.

Some gradient manis for fall

The formula is a little bit thick, but it's pretty opaque so you only need two coats at the most. What bugged me were the larger specks of glitter that made the polish super bumpy and lumpy even after FOUR coats of Seche Vite. So to assuage my need to cover the bumps, I added a gradient of the golden Sally brand golden hex glitter and a no name Love & Beauty gold glitter.
Four coats of topcoat and YOU CAN STILL SEE THE BUMPS. AHHHH!
Next up we have today's mani SpaRitual Howl with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Hidden Treasure. Howl was a pleasure to work with, even though my bottle is a mini. Used two coats with no bubbles and no problems. Then I painted the tips with HT, trying to do a hint of gradient, but focusing on the tips.
I love Howl's subtle shimmer. This is the perfect fall mani. Love love love.

Just a couple more holos...
8Ladies! Go run to your nearest Ross store if you've been looking for the Sally Hansen Nail Prisms, because they have 5-packs for 5.99. So here was my first mani with them, Blush Diamond, a gorgeous linear holographic nail polish. Two coats with one coat of Seche Vite on top. Excuse the lack of cleanup, the was a "I'm bored at work so I'm gonna paint my nails mani".
And today's mani is a Sally Hansen Magical nail polish in Mystical Mandarin, which is more of a peachy pink crazy linear holo. This type of holo is more in the style of the Nfu Oh holos or Gosh holo, so I did one coat of Nfu Oh's Aquabase and then two coats of polish. No topcoat.

Mmmm... holos.
Here are a few of my favorite holos. I don't know why I love holographic nail polish so much... I think it comes from my love for unicorns and all things shiny and colorful and ridiculous. My mom asked me about why I loved holos, and I shouted, "DO YOU SEE THE FREAKIN' RAINBOWS??? DO YOU??" She did, and now she understands :)
China Glaze FYI. Long discontinued, but still on Ebay and at some dusties.

OPI Coral Reef. I found this at a local beauty supply recently. Loved it so much I went and bought a backup. Not the MOST holo nail polish in the world, but it has a lovely pinky-orangeness that I just love.

China Glaze Let's Do It in 3D. Lemmed this forever! Finally got it through a swap and I don't think it looks that awesome on my skintone.

OPI Paris Couture for Sure. I don't wear this one nearly enough!

Nic's Sticks Rainbow's End. Gorgeous holo, very neutral. Nice office appropriate holo.

OPI DS Design. Another neutral, gorgeous holo.

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Golden Tourmaline. Gorgeous pink/red with a gold flash holographic polish.

Now that pretty much covers the holos I have stored on my photobucket account, but I have tons more I'll be posting soon!
