October Spooky NOTDs

I'm so happy fall is here! Halloween is my favorite holiday and I'm not wasting any time this year before I start my Halloween NOTDs. First up is one of my most beloved polishes, OPI Man of La Mancha, over FingerPaints Black Expressionism, with Black Expressionism stamped on top using Bundle Monster Plate 224. I love MolM because it has a reddish pink base with color morphing red to green shimmer that makes the polish super multichrome, anywhere from red to orange to gold to green. This is two coats over black.

And another couple polishes that I love together, the ones from Sephora + Pantone Universe Tangerine Tango collection: Tangerine Tango Creme and Tangerine Tango Glitter. This was super shiny and sparkly. I used two coats of TTcreme and two of the glitter, then made it smooth using Gelous followed by Seche Vite topcoat.

Indie Polish Monday! Lynnderella and Lilacquer

As I'm packing for my move in September... I see just how much nail polish I have. Lots... But my indies are definitely some of my favorite and most loved. Lynnderella Very Pretty Vampire and Bride of Franken are probably two of my most used colors. After all the dramz with Lynn's ebay craziness, I decided I didn't really want to spend that much on her polish. However, I managed to swap for the only one I wanted from her new collection, Sweet Somethings for a Summer Solstice, Glass Houses! Glass Houses is all the things I love in a polish: glitter, duochrome, and deep orange magical goodness!

I wanted to layer it over a contrasting color, so I layered it over a deep blue creme by Jessica called Solar Eclipse. Solar Eclipse is one of my favorite layering bases because it's super opaque and smooth and gorgeous. This is two coats of Solar Eclipse with one coat of Lynn's Glass Houses brushed then dabbed on to fill in blank spots.

This polish make me want Halloween season to be here so BAD. (Even thought that's how I feel all the time ;)

Next up is a polish I just got in the mail yesterday and just had to throw on. Lilacquer is an indie polish brand currently available on Etsy. So far I am digging Lilacquer because her shop usually has polishes in stock, which is nice since some stores are always empty, restock for five minutes, then empty again. Her shipping was also super fast, the polishes wrapped carefully, and so beautiful!

This polish is full of awesome, Lilacquer Schrodinger's Catastrophe: multichromatic microshimmer (green to violet), multichromatic small glitter, and then larger blue, green, and aqua color iridescent hexes that all shift to blue to purple. So pretty and ethereal! Like the easiest galaxy or under the sea manicure ever. I also wanted to use a different color than I usually would as a base, and knock out an untried at the same time, so I used two coats of Cherimoya matte-n-a- in the color Documentary, a super dark matte brown. Then I layered a coat and a half or so of SC by brushing then dabbing again glitter where there were holes.

MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm. I freaking love iridescent blue/purple glitter. Best impulse purchase ever! Check out Lilacquer here at her Etsy shop.

Rimmel Hard Edged stamped

After seeing a swatch of this online somewhere, I had to insta-buy this on eBay. Rimmel Hard Edged is an intriguing multichrome polish. The base of this is a dark dusty grey/black with a predominantly purple/red/brown shimmer that shifts to golden orange to almost green in different lights. Super crazy hard to describe, so I'll show you in pictures. This is three coats of Hard Edged with a coat of Poshe on top.

Mmmm... like super fine red to green color shift pigment! And of course I had to spice it up for work, this is using m25 Mash plate and Sally Hansen Color Quick in Red Chrome.

Lynnderella Bibbitty Bobbitty Boo Blue + OPI DS Temptation + SPAM

Okay, so...yeah. There's been a lot of craziness surrounding Lynnderella's polishes. I'm not going to get into it. What I will tell you is that the ones I have, I love. I enjoy the crap out of glitter crazy mess polishes, and BBBB is no exception. For this mani I did 2 coats of NYS Hot Purple jelly, then 2 coats of OPI DS Temptation (a very non holo DS), then 1 coat of Gelous, 1 coast of Seche Vite, and then 2 coats of Lynnderella Bibbitty Bobbitty Boo Blue, and then a coat of NYC Grand Central Station topcoat. WHOO! That's a lot of coats, now onto the sparkles!

I just love all the different colors of blue and purple and green! I just wish there were more different shapes/sizes. Good luck getting your hands on this polish, not only is it discontinued, but now the only way you can get your hands on Lynn's polish is ebay :(.

Now onto some spam!

Hope you enjoyed your Spam dinner! If you made it this far into the post, for my 150th (next) post, you can look forward to an OPI DS Sapphire giveaway!!!!

Orly Synchro multichrome from Fall 2012 Electronica collection

Holy multichrome, Batman! This color is cuh-razy! In the bottle it's a molten fire-y rosey gold blue purple glass box of emotion. Totally gorgeous in the bottle. On the nail it was a pain in the ass. But still gorgeous. I spent at least an hour last night trying to decide whether to wear it on its own today or over black. When I laid it over black, it was too streaky to wear at one coat, but at two, it kept the blue shimmer from being as prevalent. When the polish is more opaquely layered, I feel like the blue shimmer ends up clashing a bit (and greying out) the color shifting frosty-goodness underneath.

The base of this polish is a super sheer reddish rose pink that I wasn't really a fan of because it just wouldn't get opaque at a reasonable amount of coats. But all the multichrome made it worth it! So much beauty, totally unexpected! It reminds me of the classic Sally Hansen Nail Prisms multichromes. It's like SH Garnet Lapis with a different color base.

This is four dang coats over two coats of nude polish underwear. This polish bubbled and dented forever, and I almost gave up and changed my mani... and then I added french tips in Finger Paints Black Expressionism!

And here I swatched it over black (no topcoat), 2 coats, 1 coat, 2 coats, 1 coat.

I know! So many pictures! But I was chasing that gold edge of color that I just baaarely caughty in the 2nd to last picture, but you can see it in the bottle! What do you think? Are you going to pick up any Orlys from this collection? Are you willing to deal with Synchro's mess of a formula to get this sweet multichrome effect?

Hits Mari Moon Cool

This is the other polish that I got from Llarowe last week because of her winner every 10th order promotion. Quite crafty of her to lure me with contests... I am quite the gambler *misses Vegas terribly*. But I definitely do not regret buying this polish, it's mesmerizing!!! It is like a warmer, more pigmented, more AWESOME version of Chanel Peridot. It has a warm golden center that flashes from grassy green through aqua to blue to almost indigo. It got the approval of Mr. Fancy Pants Ricardo at our Lancome National Makeup Artist Event and his traveling artist Dustin. My hand was grabbed and fawned over, I loved it!

The formula on this was kind of a beast: thick and brush strokey with a brush from hell. But a little thinner made it easy to apply, and for some reason I like the metallic brush strokey finish. It wore amazingly well. I only wear polish for a day, but this mani lasted throughout the craziness of our event yesterday with only miiiiinimal tipwear.

For these swatches I did three coats of Mari Moon Cool with one coat of Seche Vite. I gave each coat a couple minutes to dry because I tend to get baaaad bubbling with these tops of chromes. But I only got a couple bubbles, so I'm pleased!
